13th International Renal Tumours Biology Meeting
Hosted by the UK UMBRELLA PLUS renal tumour group
The 13th International Paediatric Renal Tumours Biology Conference will be held on the 11th–13th October 2026 at the Francis Crick Institute in London, hosted by the UK UMBRELLA PLUS renal tumour group in collaboration with the International Society of Paediatric Oncology Renal Tumour Study Group (SIOP-RTSG), the North American Children's Oncology Group's Renal Tumour Committee (COG-RTC) and the CRUK City of London Centre.
Following excellent meetings in New York (2024) and Marseille (2022), the conference returns to Europe with the same ambition that has defined this meeting for over two decades: to bring together the global community of researchers and clinicians working on childhood kidney cancer and to translate that expertise into the collaborations and studies that will define the next generation of clinical care.
Day 1 – Sunday 11 October: Education and Keynotes
The opening day combines a half-day education session in the morning with keynote lectures in the afternoon. The education session covers the foundations of kidney embryology, tumour biology, and next-generation molecular technologies, providing essential context for the research discussions that follow across the three days. The afternoon programme moves into expert keynote lectures spanning single-cell biology, immunotherapy approaches, and risk stratification.
The day closes with a drinks reception from 17:30, held at the Francis Crick Institute. This is one of the best opportunities of the conference to meet fellow delegates in a relaxed setting, reconnect with longstanding collaborators, and begin the conversations that so often lay the foundations for new research partnerships.
Day 2 – Monday 12 October: Wilms Tumour
Monday is dedicated to Wilms tumour, with a full programme spanning molecular biology, epigenetics, clonal evolution, liquid biopsy, predisposition, nephrogenesis, and translation from bench to clinic. Sessions include panel discussions and dedicated time for open debate.
The day concludes with a guest keynote before the full conference moves to the conference dinner at Caravan, King's Cross, a short walk from the Francis Crick Institute. Caravan is a well-regarded London restaurant known for its globally inspired small and large plates, designed for sharing. The conference dinner is always a highlight and remains one of its most valued elements: a chance to step back from the formal programme and continue the day's conversations over good food and wine.
Day 3 – Tuesday 13 October: Non-Wilms Tumours, Therapeutic Horizons, and Synthesis
The final day opens with patient and family perspectives on biological research, followed by dedicated sessions on renal cell carcinoma, renal medullary carcinoma, and rhabdoid tumours. The afternoon focuses on therapeutic translation, including tumour modelling, cancer vaccines, and novel agents, before the conference closes with a keynote on artificial intelligence in paediatric pathology and clinical systems.
